IT Services Engineer (Education) Leighton Park School (Onsite)

Base location: Leighton Park School (Shinfield Rd, Berkshire, Reading RG2 7DE). Full-time on-site.

Role

IT Services Engineer (Education) at Leighton Park School, working as part of the inTEC managed services team to deliver IT support to staff and pupils on site.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first class IT support services to staff and pupils at the school.
• Provide end-user support and contribute to systems maintenance of servers, network and Wi‑Fi, and cloud-hosted systems.
• Be a key member of the onsite IT team, working closely with the inTEC Service Manager and school staff.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications.
• Good knowledge of desktop operating systems (e.g. Windows, Mac OSX).
• Microsoft systems administration experience (Windows Server, 365, Azure).
• Google G Suite for Education experience.
• Apple product experience (including hardware, macOS and iOS).
• Basic networking skills (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLAN, switching, wireless).

Desirable

• Relevant IT certifications.
• Educational MIS systems experience (SIMS, Schoolbase, iSAMS etc).
• Mobile Device Management (Apple JAMF, Chromebook GSuite).
• Experience of supporting services in the cloud (e.g. SaaS).
• Previous experience working in a school.
• Web & E-mail Security in regards to child safeguarding.

Other Details

Hours per week: Monday to Friday either 08:00 to 16:30 or 09:00 to 17:30 (to be agreed on appointment).

Annual leave: 30 days plus Bank Holidays.

Annual salary: £25,000–£27,000, dependant on experience.

Reporting lines: IT Manager.
