Overview

Our client, a bank based in Central London, is looking to recruit an IT Systems Support Engineer with at least 2 years of IT experience in financial services and a total of 5 years in IT. You will be part of a small team managing day-to-day technology infrastructure to ensure the Bank can operate efficiently. This is a hybrid role – 3 days in the office.

Base pay range

The salary for this role is in the range £40K - £50K.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of the Bank\'s IT infrastructure by providing first line support of software, hardware and networking that includes installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
• Design, plan and deploy IT projects to enhance the existing IT infrastructure and any applications required by the bank.
• End User Computing support for all staff.
• Coordinate between London Users and Group IT Security on system access requests and ensure timely permissions following the Group Access Matrix Protocol.
• Preserve assets by implementing Disaster Recovery and backup procedures in line with Group requirements.
• Provide IT support to ensure smooth running of daily and periodic reports for the London Compliance team to meet Anti-Money Laundering provisions.
• Undertake data extraction for reporting requirements for stakeholders across the bank.
• Monitor CCTV, telephony systems and door access systems; ensure proper maintenance and backups.
• Overall monitoring of networking equipment (switches, firewall, and other appliances) and support.
• Plan and carry out maintenance checks to ensure IT operations and infrastructure run smoothly and that daily tasks are completed.
• Maintain the BCP site to ensure continuous bank operations.
• Maintain the branch PABX system and ensure the recording system is up and running.

Technical/Functional skills

• Proficient in common operating systems:
  • Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and above
  • Red Hat Linux based operating system
• Software proficiency:
  • VMware v6.7 and above
  • Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection
  • Symantec Endpoint Encryption
  • ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus
  • Microsoft Office 365
• Networking (IT):
  • Cisco switches and routers
  • Fortigate firewalls
  • LAN/WAN routing
• Hardware:
  • Dell PowerEdge servers
  • Dell PowerVault SAN storage

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree or professional qualification in IT/Information Systems/Computer Science/Technology/Programming/Information Science/System Engineering/Computing.
