Hybrid working is a possibility for this role, but some level of office working will be required. The successful candidate must have a flexible mindset regarding working hours as these may change subject to requirement. This role could be ideal for somebody looking to work while they study their IT degree or someone who is self-employed and looking for an IT role to work in tandem.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support; answering support queries either onsite or via phone or email
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
  • Assist with customer implementations either remotely or on-site
  • Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
  • Respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
  • Escalate more complex service issues to the relevant member of the team

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Basic understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
  • Knowledge of networking, backup software and accounts software would be a plus
  • Excellent telephone manner and face to face communication skills
  • Experience in diagnosing hardware/software faults
  • Excellent inter-personal skills: diplomatic and able to inspire user confidence
  • Thorough, professional approach

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working for a small-medium sized business
  • Broad range of IT support experience
  • Explore the customers situation with them to develop a fuller understanding of the underlying need
  • Deliver as agreed with the customer
  • Take action to exceed customer expectations
  • Advocate customer satisfaction as a key value as part of the IT Team
  • Deal effectively with dissatisfied customers
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of time and resources
  • HND or equivalent in IT related degree
