Overview

We are seeking an IT Support Engineer – Hardware Deployment to join a large-scale IT project in Merthyr Tydfil. This role involves carrying out installation and deployment tasks to ensure smooth delivery of desktop hardware and end-user equipment.

Location and Contract

Location: Onsite - Cardiff, UK

Contract: 6 months - Monday to Thursday, variable shift patterns

Responsibilities

• Un-box and install desktop hardware to desks, connecting peripherals and cables (power, network, etc).
• Perform basic power-on self-tests to confirm functionality.
• Initiate automated builds and complete simple scripted post-login configurations.
• Work independently or as part of a team to deliver to agreed timelines.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to a high standard.
• Provide support for variable shift patterns as required by the business.

Requirements

• Previous IT hardware installation or deployment experience.
• Basic knowledge of desktop hardware, cabling, and peripherals.
• Ability to follow scripted processes accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work across variable shift patterns (Mon–Thu).
