Overview

IT Systems Desktop Support Engineer role at Free-Work UK. Our client is a Bank based in Central London and is looking to recruit an IT Systems Support Engineer with ideally at least 2 years of IT experience in the financial industry and a total of about 5 years in IT. You will work in a small team managing day-to-day technology infrastructure to support bank operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Bank's IT infrastructure by providing first line support for software, hardware and networking, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scope
• Design, plan and deploy IT projects to enhance the existing IT infrastructure and any applications required by the bank
• End User Computing support for all staff
• Coordinate between London Users and Group IT Security on system access requests; ensure prompt permissions, regular updates, and adherence to the Group Access Matrix Protocol
• Preserve Bank assets by implementing Disaster Recovery and backup procedures in line with Group requirements
• Provide IT support to ensure smooth daily and periodic reports for the London Compliance team to meet Anti Money Laundering provisions
• Undertake data extraction for reporting to stakeholders
• Monitor CCTV, telephony systems and door access systems; ensure maintenance, backups and procedures are applied
• Monitor networking equipment (switches, firewalls, routers, etc.) and provide support
• Plan and carry out maintenance checks to ensure IT operations and infrastructure run smoothly and daily tasks are completed
• Maintain the BCP site to ensure continuous bank operations
• Maintain the branch PABX system and ensure recording system availability

Qualifications

Salary

The salary for this role is in the range £35K - £40K.
