IT Systems Engineer (Virtual Infrastructure) - London

I'm working with a leading global financial services organisation that is looking to add an IT Systems Engineer (Virtual Infrastructure) to its growing London team.

You'll join a highly skilled engineering group of proactive, creative minds who are shaping the future of the company. The team supports complex, large-scale environments running 24/7, where performance, reliability, and innovation are key.

In this role you'll manage and evolve virtual infrastructure across backup, converged and hyper-converged platforms, while driving automation with tools like Ansible and PowerShell. Alongside ensuring performance, security and reliability, you'll contribute to disaster recovery and key infrastructure projects in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evolve virtual infrastructure across backup, converged and hyper-converged platforms.
• Drive automation using tools such as Ansible and PowerShell.
• Ensure performance, security and reliability of critical infrastructure.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Support key infrastructure projects in a mission-critical, 24/7 environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering or operations within complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of VMware virtualisation, Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure, Cohesity backup solutions, and converged infrastructure.
• Familiarity with automation and DevOps approaches, ideally with Ansible and PowerShell.
• Exposure to storage platforms such as S3 and file solutions.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Please note this is a hybrid position in Central London.
