Field Engineer (2nd Line)

Start: ASAP We are seeking an experienced and proactive 2nd Line Field Engineer to join a busy IT support team. This is an urgent requirement with an immediate start available. The role is split 50/50 between office-based work in Orpington and travel to customer sites, providing hands-on technical support. Key Responsibilities

Provide 2nd line desktop and field support, resolving a wide range of user issues.

Diagnose and fix problems with desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals.

Install and configure hardware, software, and operating systems.

Manage and update support tickets, ensuring timely resolution.

Escalate issues when required while maintaining clear communication with customers.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a 2nd line / desktop support role.

Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and general networking.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Clean UK driving licence

company van provided for travel to customer sites.

Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, MCP) are an advantage.
