Overview
At QinetiQ, join us as a Junior Crypt-Key Engineer at our Malvern site, where you will work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with leading experts in cryptography and key management. This role involves supporting customer-focused research, consultancy design and analysis in the crypto security domain.
Responsibilities
- Understand cyber security concepts, significance, threats, vulnerabilities and assurance.
- Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends, threats and solutions.
- Deliver high-quality analysis, designs, reports and presentations that address customer problems and solutions in crypto security.
- Collaborate with QinetiQ colleagues to identify security requirements, develop and analyse innovative solutions, and understand technical details in crypto security.
- Express security trade-offs based on system performance, legal requirements, time and budget.
Essential Experience
- Analytical thinking and ability to apply technical skills to IT and crypto equipment at an engineering level.
- Experience working independently with supervision for unusual or unfamiliar situations.
- Previous experience with crypto and key management technology in academic or industrial settings.
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders including customers.
- Experience demonstrating rigor in equipment interoperability to support customer acceptance decisions.
- Understanding of high-level security objectives and cryptographic algorithms.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent.

Location, hours and on-site requirement
This role is 37 hours per week and based on-site in Malvern.
