Overview

Salary – up to £50,000 DOE. This role is London, hybrid. Our client is a rapidly growing company that invests in, develops, constructs and operates a portfolio of UK renewable energy assets, predominantly Solar Farms, with a Head Office in London.

They are seeking an experienced Junior Grid Connections Engineer to lead key aspects of the grid connection process for their portfolio of renewable energy projects. This person will manage and lead the grid intel and connections process, coordinating with Distribution and Transmission Network Operators and the System Operator to resolve complex engineering challenges and obtain the optimal connection strategy for projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the grid intel and connections process for a portfolio of renewable energy projects.
• Engage with Distribution and Transmission Network Operators and the System Operator to obtain optimal connection strategies.
• Analyse grid offers and work with DNOs to achieve cost-effective connections.
• Provide engineering input to support project development; create and present technical reports to the wider team.
• Support technical design, layout, site optimisation, and other site considerations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful development and management of projects; represent the company at industry events.

About you

• BEng in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field.
• Organised and able to autonomously manage multiple highly technical projects and meet targets.
• Self-starter in a small, agile team.
• Demonstrable knowledge of DNO connection applications and offers; knowledge of distribution and transmission networks.
• Excellent written and oral communication; high attention to detail.
• Desire to help develop and grow a core function within the company.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Transmission connections experience preferred but not required; renewable energy experience preferred.
