Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior or Graduate Embedded Software Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Milton Keynes. This role is hybrid-based, so candidates should reside within a commutable distance of Milton Keynes.

The successful candidate will develop Embedded/Real-Time Linux applications and drivers for SWARCO ITS in the UK. They will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant company procedures for all staff and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, document, and test software solutions using C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python.
• Design new applications and enhance existing ones.
• Perform design, code, and peer reviews of colleagues' work.
• Work in an agile environment, developing and optimizing processes according to best practices.
• Interpret customer requirements and generate functional requirements documentation for software development.
• Maintain high standards of software quality and security.

Your Profile

Key Skills and Experience

• Experience developing software using C/C++ and Python.
• Ability to interpret specifications for software development.
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Degree in BSc Computer Science or equivalent (2:1 or higher).
• Experience with Embedded Linux development.
• Familiarity with software engineering tools such as GIT, JIRA, and workflow processes.
