Location: Manchester, hybrid
Salary: GBP55,000 – 65,000+ per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 per week (flexi time available)
Job Type: Full–time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer join a well–established engineering organisation. This company is a key player in the power systems sector, specialising in the design, manufacture, and testing of high–voltage substation protection and control equipment.

With a strong reputation in providing reliable solutions and bespoke engineering services, they are looking for a dynamic professional to lead the technical delivery of customer projects.

Lead Electrical Design Engineer The Role:


The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical management of engineering projects, ensuring the delivery of cost–effective and timely design solutions.

Lead Electrical Design Engineer – Key Responsibilities:

– Lead technical project delivery in line with customer requirements, internal procedures, and project timelines

– Act as the technical point of contact for stakeholders and manage all technical communications

Coordinate and guide engineering resources (electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines) across assigned projects

– Conduct site surveys (as required), ensuring compliance with health and safety standards

– Manage and respond to client technical queries and oversee all formal drawing submissions

– Produce and issue various technical documents

– Liaise with the manufacturing team during the build phase and support testing activities

– Contribute to tenders and provide technical support to the sales team where needed

Lead Electrical Design Engineer – You:

– Proven experience in technical project management

– Ability to produce electrical design drawings

– Strong stakeholder communication and people management skills

– Excellent attention to detail and time management

– Motivated and able to motivate others

– HNC/HND qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
