Job Title: Lead EngineerLocation: Portsmouth RegionJob Type: Permanent, Full-time (38 hours per week)Company OverviewI am seeking a Lead Engineer to provide critical support to the Engineering Manager in delivering a major infrastructure project. This role involves managing design reviews, overseeing technical queries, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual timelines. You will take ownership of specific engineering work packages, act as the technical lead on smaller components, and ensure accurate data is available for contractors. Collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders will be central to securing alignment on solutions and strengthening engineering assurance systems and processes.The RoleAs Lead Engineer, you will manage design coordination and technical assurance across the project. You’ll chair meetings and workshops with design teams, contractors, and operations, ensuring alignment of solutions and resolution of technical queries. This role also requires producing reports, engineering papers, and forecasts to support governance and stakeholder engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesChair meetings with Design Guardians to track progress and resolve issues.Manage responses to technical queries and design submissions from contractors.Monitor and assess Design Guardian performance against KPIs.Coordinate requests on engineering matters between the client and contractors.Lead collaborative planning with contractors and chair workshops to align solutions.Provide engineering input at Early Warning meetings and technical reviews.Deliver regular updates and reports to the Engineering Manager on progress, risks, and forecasts.Key RequirementsBachelor’s degree in an Engineering-related discipline.Proven experience in design management within major infrastructure projects.Strong knowledge of the design process and its commercial implications.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to coordinate multiple parties and deliver results under pressure.How to ApplyIf you are ready to take on an exciting challenge as a Lead Engineer, please send your CV to Jordan.lee@ganymedesolutions.co.uk or contact Jordan Lee at 07583 177437 for further details.Ganymede Solutions is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
