A well-established, socially impactful organisation is building a new product team and hiring a Tech Lead to help shape the future of its service-led platform. This business plays a pivotal role in improving everyday access for people across the UK, working closely with partners, dealers, and service providers. Their systems support high-volume interactions tied to vehicle servicing, MOTs, and maintenance infrastructure, and they’re investing in a new team to evolve it further.

This is a hands-on dev/leadership role blending coding, architecture, and informal mentorship. You’ll help modernise and consolidate existing platforms while introducing new functionality that aligns with broader service goals. You’ll take ownership of design decisions, support technical delivery, and guide other engineers in a cross-functional team including testers, analysts, and a product owner.

The tech stack is mainly backend, with about 70% in Java (Spring Boot) and messaging technologies, with some frontend work involving React and TypeScript. Fullstack experience is valued, but a growth mindset is more important than perfect technical fit. The role values curiosity, collaboration, and end-to-end solution steering.

You can be based in Bristol or Edinburgh, working on-site three days a week near the city center.

Compensation includes a salary between £75,000 and £85,000, a bonus up to 22%, and a strong pension and benefits package.
