The Role

Lead and manage the engineering team, ensuring motivation, development, and performance Act as the designated Responsible Person for safety, compliance, and operational standards Carry out electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment Troubleshoot faults, calibrate vision systems, and support automation technologies Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions Coordinate planned maintenance schedules and manage external contractors Contribute to the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures Support capital investment planning and supplier engagement

The Requirements

Proven experience in a senior engineering or team leadership role within a manufacturing environment Strong electrical background – 17th/18th Edition certification preferred Hands-on experience with fault finding and repairs on electromechanical systems Formal engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent) desirable Experience with vision systems, control systems, and automation technologies Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and analytical mindset Automotive industry experience is a plus
