Job Description
The Lead Engineer will be responsible for providing electrical and general building services maintenance across a range of commercial properties. This includes fault finding, repairs, installations, and proactive/reactive maintenance tasks. You’ll work closely with contractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure high standards of service delivery and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical/mechanical PPMs and reactive works within agreed timeframes
- Maintain and repair HVAC, fabric, and other building services systems
- Conduct inspections, testing, and PAT testing of electrical equipment
- Issue Permits to Work and monitor contractor performance
- Ensure compliance with company standards and H&S regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Provide technical support to engineers and cover for National Technical Lead when required
- Participate in on-call rota and attend client sites as needed
- Suggest service improvements and attend relevant training courses
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2230 Level 3 or NVQ 2356/2357
- City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- AM1 and AM2
- City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS:7671:2008)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience in electrical building services maintenance, fault finding, and inspection/testing
- Familiarity with FM environments and commercial properties
- Knowledge and understanding of H&S procedures
