OverviewLead Product Design Engineer - West Sussex - Salary up to £75,000 + Benefits - Ref 1955I am currently recruiting for a Lead Product Design Engineer to work for a leading engineering organisation based in West Sussex. Salary up to £75,000 + Benefits.The organisation are worldwide leaders in the design, development and manufacture of their incredibly high-end products. They work out of their state-of-the-art offices fully equipped with showrooms enabling them to present their products to their clientele highlighting why they\'re above and beyond their competitors. They\'ve grown astronomically in recent years and projections suggests this shall continue in line with the ever growing demand and desire for their products.To support the growth of the business they now have the need to appoint a Lead Product Design Engineer on a permanent basis.ResponsibilitiesLead a team of 4 other Product Design Engineers, as well as some sub-contractors and offshore resources as required.Remain hands-on with ~75% of time spent designing and ~25% on leadership duties such as project management, process improvements, delegation, mentoring, and training.Challenge existing approaches, understand why things have been done to date, and suggest improvements such as new manufacturing methods, improved design procedures or using new suppliers.Contribute to both new product development (NPD) and support the existing product portfolio with necessary modifications and alterations while considering product rationalisation.Place a large emphasis on process improvement and optimisation within the design department.Essential RequirementsPrevious experience as a Product Design Engineer, Industrial Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or similarExperience mentoring, leading or managing other Design Engineers3D CADExperience designing for CNC Machining, Casting, Forging or ExtrusionExperience designing products where aesthetics and ergonomics are at the forefront of design considerationsOpportunity & CultureThis is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment where quality trumps cost, with the potential for further progression within the business for the right individual.How to ApplyThis is an immediate requirement.
