Lead Protection & Control Engineer – Contract – Hybrid – Glasgow – Outside IR35 VIQU have partnered with a leading consultancy in the energy sector, who are seeking an experienced Lead Protection & Control Engineer. You'll play a key role in delivering complex Protection & Control solutions across Transmission and Distribution projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical design and delivery of Protection & Control systems. Develop SLDs, KLDs, architecture diagrams, and concept designs. Conduct site surveys and provide technical input for tenders. Produce and review schematics, layouts, calculations, and schedules. Chair design workshops and interface with clients and stakeholders. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to required standards. Key Requirements: Strong experience as a Lead Protection & Control Engineer. Knowledge of key technologies and vendors, with solid background within the Energy industry. Hands-on experience with IEC61850 and related field implementation. Understanding of communications, substation protocols, and Cyber Security requirements. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
