Overview

We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Functions, Service Bus, and event-driven architecture, paired with strong, hands-on C#/.NET development skills. In this role, you’ll help spearhead a major transformation initiative in the insurance industry—building a scalable, intelligent, cloud-native platform that will define the future of the business.

Salary - £90,000

Duration: 12 - 18 Months FTC

Location: Remote, occasional travel to Gloucester

Responsibilities

• Architect & build a next-gen ratings engine leveraging Azure Functions, Service Bus, and C# within a microservices, event-driven ecosystem.
• Set the technical vision and enforce best practices across design, development, and deployment.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
• Mentor and elevate engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Champion DevOps & Agile, driving CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern engineering practices in Azure.

Skills

• Extensive experience in Microsoft Azure, especially serverless, messaging, and integration services.
• Expert-level C#/.NET skills, with a track record of building scalable, cloud-native applications.
• Proven success designing and implementing event-driven systems (Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Functions).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices.
