OverviewWarwickshire County Council is hiring a Street Lighting Engineer to maintain and improve lighting infrastructure across the county. This role supports the dedicated Street Lighting Team within the Council’s County Highways Service.ResponsibilitiesConduct on-site inspections and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of street lighting systems.Collaborate with fellow engineers and the term maintenance contractor to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently and cost-effectively.Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards and is delivered to a high standard of quality.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations, and report issues to relevant teams.Be flexible with working hours and locations, as the role may require work outside standard hours and away from your base.Key RequirementsStrong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent planning, organisation, and IT capabilities.A proactive approach to contributing to technical developments within the council, the wider industry, and relevant professional bodies.About UsStreet Lighting is a well-established and integral part of Warwickshire County Council’s County Highways Service. The team manages and maintains over 60,000 illuminated assets, including streetlights, illuminated bollards, traffic signs, and vehicle-activated signs, in partnership with a term maintenance contractor.
