Job Overview
Apply for a Hybrid Remote position based in Thurrock, Purfleet, United Kingdom. This full-time role involves maintaining and improving plant equipment and systems within a global organization dedicated to sustainable logistics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, enforcing Zero Harm policies.
- Implement reliability systems and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage procurement, inventory, and budgeting for spare parts and consumables.
- Lead capital projects for equipment upgrades and plant improvements.
- Monitor and optimize utilities usage to reduce costs.
- Conduct safety audits, equipment testing, and asset management to ensure compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team to meet operational goals.
Additional Duties
Support maintenance of on-site customer solutions, manage own schedule, and coordinate work with plant teams. Use company van and tools for site work, including PPM and remedial tasks.
Qualifications
- 18th Edition wiring regulations
- City and Guilds or equivalent apprenticeship
- Experience in site-based or field maintenance (reactive and proactive)
- HND, HNC, or similar in engineering
- Organized with good diary management skills
- Experience in spare parts procurement and stock management
- PLC fault finding and programming knowledge (desirable)
- Flexible, with good communication skills and availability for call-outs
Skills and Competencies
Adaptability, technical knowledge of compressors, vacuum pumps, electrical controls, and schematics, data analysis, digital literacy, leadership, and teamwork skills among others.
