Our client is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Level 1 to join their growing engineering team on a permanent, full-time basis. About the Role: As a Maintenance Engineer Level 1, you will assist the engineering department in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment across the site. Youll provide hands-on support in responding to breakdowns, fault diagnosis, servicing, and repair of company equipment, while ensuring high standards of safety and housekeeping are maintained. Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to breakdowns and assist in diagnosing faults. Provide support in carrying out repairs and servicing of company equipment. Complete all relevant documentation through QPulse. Always work safely, reporting hazards or near misses to your supervisor. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and identify possible improvements. Liaise with the maintenance manager, supervisor, or chargehand regarding work progression. Organise the workshop to ensure it is clean, tidy, and optimised for use. Assist fellow engineers and apprentices as required. Carry out any other reasonable duties requested to ensure the effective operation of the business. Requirements: Skills, Knowledge & Experience Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively. Mechanical/Electrical modern apprenticeship or minimum 3 years engineering experience. Basic knowledge of injection moulding processes and functions. Experience in: Mechanical or electrical fault finding. Packaging equipment, conveyors, and material feeding systems. Machine start-up/shutdown and product changeovers. Fault finding, core program set-up, and PAT testing. General factory maintenance. What the Client Offers: Training Period Salary: £39,000 per year Post-Training Salary: £45,000 per year once the training is successfully completed When the training period is completed, the employee will be working a 3-shift rotation. Initial training period: First couple of months on day shift until competent, then move into the full shift pattern. Overtime: Paid at time and a half on weekends (minimum 4 hours available on Saturdays). Company pension scheme. Opportunities to develop skills and progress within the company.
