Role Purpose
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across all operations. This includes high-voltage systems (up to 11kV), mobile plant, and fixed infrastructure. The role supports equipment reliability and ensures full compliance with statutory and site specific electrical safety standards. Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, and maintain HV/LV electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, and control panels.
Perform electrical installations for new infrastructure and system upgrades.
Diagnose and repair faults on equipment such as mobile plant (e.g., drills, loaders, trucks), conveyors, crushers, pumps, and ventilation systems.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance in line with safety and operational standards.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance work, and electrical schematics.
Assist in commissioning and handover of new installations and system modifications.
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, operations, and engineering teams to minimise downtime and enhance reliability.
Adhere to the Electricity at Work Regulations, risk assessments, and site-specific procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Proven experience with mobile plant and heavy industrial electrical systems.
HV switching and isolation competency (preferred).
Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and motor control systems.
Desirable experience across multiple fields of electrical engineering: Electrical testing and inspection
High voltage switching procedures
Diagnostics and repair of mobile plant systems

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments, including underground and confined spaces.
Flexible and reliable, with a willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule (MondayFriday).
