Maintenance Engineer

Alexander Steele are working with an established ambient food manufacturing business in Hitchin who are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.
The ideal candidate will be a time-served engineer with experience in food or FMCG manufacturing, with good mechanical and electrical skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns to keep production running smoothly
* Work on a wide range of kit including conveyors, mixers, and packing machinery
* Support continuous improvement projects, looking at reliability and efficiency
* Get involved with root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues
* Make sure all work is completed safely and in line with food safety and site standards
* Keep accurate maintenance records and support audit readiness
* Work closely with production and other departments to achieve site targets
On Offer
* £50,946.27 per year
* Monday to Friday – rotating shifts:
* Mon–Thurs 6:00am–3:15pm, Fri 6:00am–2:15pm
* Mon–Thurs 12:45pm–10:00pm, Fri 1:45pm–10:00pm
* 33 days holiday
* 5% employee / 6% employer pension
