OverviewMaintenance Engineer role at Chemring Countermeasures. The Maintenance Engineer will cover mechanical and electrical requirements to ensure continuity of production operations and carry out planned maintenance schedules on plant and equipment.ResponsibilitiesCarry out mechanical and electrical planned maintenance tasks in line with current schedulesPlan and organise follow up work derived from planned maintenance checksCarry out planned calibration checks and portable appliance testingAttend to electrical and mechanical and plant breakdownsCoordinate any follow on activities between shifts leaving clear instructionsIdentify spare part requirementsCarry out minor project work e.g. building rewiring, new equipment installations, process and asset movements, machine upgrades, CCTV installations, energy management etcRecommend and implement improvements to assets, plant and buildings to achieve gains in safety, quality, productivity and reductions in costEnsure health, safety and welfare of themselves and others affected by their activitiesComply with all health and safety procedures and regulations and demonstrate a commitment to health and safetyFollow company environmental procedures and participate in environmental improvementsMaintenance Engineer SpecificationRight to live and work in the UKTime Served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentLevel 3 Qualification in Electrical or equivalentMust not be colour blindPrevious experience in Electrical MaintenancePrevious experience in Mechanical MaintenanceExperience in an automated process environmentIT SkillsKnowledge of hydraulics and pneumaticsUnderstanding of basic machinery safetyKnowledge of abrasive wheel regulationsThis role will be worked over a 28 day cycle with a rotating schedule (4 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, 4 days off, 5 days on, 5 days off) including day and night shifts.About Chemring CountermeasuresChemring Countermeasures has a culture built on the values of Safety, Excellence and Innovation.
