Maintenance Engineer – £44,000 per annum Location: Kings Norton Shift - Nights About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Process Engineering team based within Kings Norton. In this hands-on role, you’ll ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all machinery, plant equipment, and factory facilities — keeping production running smoothly and in full compliance with safety and statutory requirements. You’ll be part of a proactive engineering team that takes pride in maintaining high standards across our site and driving continuous improvement in our processes and equipment performance. Salary & Benefits Salary: £44,000 per annum ✅ Competitive company benefits package ✅ Opportunity for overtime and training ✅ Supportive, safety-focused working environment Key Responsibilities * Perform routine, reactive, and preventative maintenance on all production machinery and site equipment. * Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly to minimise downtime. * Support new equipment installation and commissioning projects. * Develop and manage a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule. * Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for repairs, servicing, and installations. * Conduct safety system checks (fire alarms, security systems) and maintain site compliance. * Assist production teams to ensure high performance and “right first time” output. * Contribute to continuous improvement and plant safety initiatives. * Maintain high housekeeping standards and participate in production and safety meetings. About You You’re a hands-on, self-motivated engineer who enjoys solving problems and keeping complex manufacturing operations running efficiently. You’ll bring solid technical knowledge, teamwork, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Essential Skills & Experience: * Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing. * Qualified in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (multi-skilled preferred). * Experience with pneumatics and ideally hydraulics. * Knowledge of robotics, air handling systems, filtration, and automated conveyors advantageous. * Confident with fault-finding, wiring, and reading technical drawings. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with Rhombus Factory Information System (training provided). Desirable: * Manual Handling, Working at Height, IPAF/MEWP certification. * Fire alarm and security system maintenance experience.
