Job Description

  • Develop, refine, and document manufacturing process flows and routings for new and existing components, ensuring optimized sequences and resource allocation.
  • Create detailed work instructions, process sheets, tooling drawings, and fixture designs to support shop floor execution.
  • Provide day-to-day process engineering support to the production floor: troubleshoot problems, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve throughput, yield, and quality.
  • Validate and iterate process designs using simulations or test runs to confirm cycle times, tolerances, and material removal strategies.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to review drawings for manufacturability, apply Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles, and influence cost-saving improvements.
  • Lead or support process transfer activities, including qualification of new parts and process scale-up efforts.
  • Ensure alignment of manufacturing processes to aerospace quality systems ( P&W, GE, Sikorsky) and support internal/external audits as needed.

    The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar manufacturing process engineering role, particularly in aerospace or high-precision machining environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), strong understanding of machining principles (turning, milling, boring, etc.), ability to analyze feeds/ speeds, cutting tool selection, chip removal strategies, and fixture design.
  • CAD / Software: Prior experience with NX CAD (Unigraphics) and SolidWorks is required. Familiarity with CAM or simulation tools ( Vericut, Mastercam, etc.) is a plus.
  • Quality/Aerospace Standards: Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, and Sikorsky quality systems is preferred; experience supporting aerospace audits or certification programs is a plus.
