PAYE: £28.00/hr + holiday pay | Umbrella: £37.61/hr Morson is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of BAE Systems

for a 12-month contract based in Barrow.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class engineering organisation and contribute to the development and delivery of advanced manufacturing solutions for major defence programmes. The successful candidate will support the delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into Operations, ensuring that design intent is achieved while meeting business and customer requirements across Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery. Key Responsibilities

Support the conversion of Engineering Design intent into detailed Manufacturing Engineering data for Operations use.

Complete assigned tasks on time using appropriate engineering tools and techniques.

Participate in peer reviews to ensure outputs are ready for release to manufacturing.

Assist in developing and testing new systems, processes, and equipment as required.

Support product and process quality assurance in line with company procedures.

Build effective cross-functional relationships to achieve overall project goals.

Develop awareness and application of SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) and Quality systems.

Provide input to cost and production planning by reviewing schedules and estimating requirements.

Contribute to process improvement and continuous improvement activities within the team.

Engage effectively with colleagues and demonstrate BAE Systems' values and professional standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Knowledge: Experience defining and delivering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Capable of conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Experience working within high-performing engineering teams.

Awareness of relevant engineering standards, including SHE regulations.

Ability to seek and apply specialist advice where needed.

Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Proficient in document and data management processes.

Understanding of manufacturing engineering fundamentals and continuous improvement.

Knowledge of process and configuration management principles.

Awareness of product safety, quality, and industrial engineering methods.

Qualifications

Expected:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with practical experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
