Join to apply for the Manufacturing Engineer role at Thompson Aero Seating Limited4 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Manufacturing Engineer role at Thompson Aero Seating LimitedGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The post holder will be responsible for supporting Manufacturing Engineering activities in one or a combination of the following areas of responsibilities:Product designProcess designEquipment/Tool designProduction system designAutomated systems and controlQuality & continuous ImprovementResponsibilitiesDesign, prove, implement and/or maintain production systems to deliver product on time, to quality requirements and to costSupport continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove wasteSupport product design for manufacture and assembly activitiesSupport product CAM/CAE activitiesSupport cutting tool selection/design, work holding tool design and mould designSupport validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutionsDevelop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescalesIdentify and justify capital equipment investmentAnalyse and improve material usageAnalyse downtime, identify trends and develop solutionsEnsure accuracy of manufacturing engineering procedures, documentation and systems dataAttend various meetings and action/communicate instructionsProduce written reports and make presentationsPerform root cause analysis and resolve problemsIdentify business improvement opportunities within the organisationConduct risk assessments of processes and tasks relative to the value stream or central functionRewardCompetitive salaryAnnual bonus (linked to company performance)33 days annual leave (Increase after 5 years' service)37.5 hours per weekFlexi time working£5,000 employee referral bonusHealth cash planContributory Salary Sacrifice Pension SchemeHoliday Purchase Scheme -
