Manufacturing Engineer - St. Neots - Salary up to £48,000 depending on experience

Working for a world leader within the aircraft manufacturing industry the Manufacturing Engineer will perform manufacturing engineering tasks relating to the development and production of electronic and electro-mech assemblies. The ideal candidate will be qualified to BTEC Level 3 or above in manufacturing engineering or similar and will have experience working within electronic manufacture.   • Duties:

  • Support Engineering in ensuring manufacturability of new designs and in developing electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Assist Technical Planning in creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation (SAP routings, work instructions, drawings, and specifications).
  • Manage product costs during development and into production.
  • Define optimal manufacturing methods and processes based on design requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Test Department to implement suitable testing solutions.
  • Oversee development and first-build of assemblies to ensure production readiness.
  • Work with Sales, Engineering, and Quality to ensure customer requirements are fully captured.
  • Implement and manage engineering changes in production environments.
  • Act as technical liaison for build-to-print customer products.
  • Support training programs and deliver relevant technical instruction when required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across processes and production.
  • Assist with equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions through the MRB process.
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • A BTEC Level 3 or above in manufacturing engineering or similar is necessary
  • Manufacturing engineering experience, in a low to medium volume electronics production environment - including surface mount, PTH, PCBA cleaning and conformal coating is required
  • Practical experience of Lean Manufacturing Principals is necessary
  • Solidworks experience preferable
  • An understanding of SAP ERP and CAD processes is preferred
  • Aerospace and/or Defence industry experience would be ideal
  • Good communication and teamworking skills are required
