Manufacturing Engineer

to join our team in Newcastle. This role offers the opportunity to work on the successful implementation and management of a bespoke Manufacturing Execution System (MES), designed to collate and analyze data to drive continuous improvement across the business. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be a key point of contact for shop floor process issues, while also supporting production, planning, quality, engineering, and HSE teams with data-driven insights. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, process optimization, and applying Lean principles in a hands-on environment. Responsibilities Act as the point of contact for resolving shop floor process issues related to the data collection system. Liaise with production and cross-functional teams on data collation, analysis, and reporting. Support downtime investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives around HSE, Quality, and Productivity. Ensure all process and quality documentation is accurate, up to date, and accessible. Ensure all equipment is maintained and available for manufacturing processes. Lead and collaborate within small multifunctional teams, facilitating problem-solving workshops. Apply analytical skills to create Pareto charts, identify key offenders, and sanitize data for accurate reporting. Requirements Essentials: Proven experience in

manufacturing engineering , ideally within a continuous improvement environment. Familiarity with

Lean principles

and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong

analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills . Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business, including shop floor, management, suppliers, and customers. Proficiency in

Microsoft Office applications , particularly Excel and SharePoint. Self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and work independently. Desirables: Experience with

PowerApps

or other digital tools for data handling and visualization. Previous experience supporting or managing

Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) . Background in leading cross-functional workshops or training sessions.
