We're seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the manufacturability and quality of joining methods at our state-of-the-art facility in Solihull. This is a contract opportunity with a leading OEM, offering you the chance to work on high-impact projects in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
What You'll Be Doing:
Collaborate & Influence: Work closely with the Lead Joining Engineer, BIW Process Engineering, and Product Development teams to shape manufacturable joining solutions.
Analyse & Optimise: Evaluate feasibility trials, validate data, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendor engineers, ensuring timely technical reviews and adherence to project timelines.
Project Coordination: Drive consistency across projects, aligning with best practices and standard methodologies.
Digital Transformation: Leverage digital tools to automate processes, build dashboards, and perform advanced data analysis using macros, PowerApps, and AI.
Manufacturing Excellence: Partner with project teams and vendors to ensure compliance with joining technology standards and buy-off procedures.
Holistic Understanding: Develop insights into how joining technologies interface with manufacturing systems, including adhesive bonding, FDS, RSW, SPR, and more.

Self-driven and solution-oriented, with a track record of taking initiative and delivering results.
Digitally savvy, with proficiency in automation tools, data analysis, and dashboard creation.
An effective communicator, confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Technically curious, ideally holding or pursuing a degree in engineering, with knowledge or interest in joining technologies such as:
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
Laser Welding
Self-Piercing Riveting (SPR)
Resistance Spot Welding (RSW)
Adhesive Bonding
Flow Drive Screw (FDS)
A knowledge transfer champion, capable of applying engineering best practices to the automotive domain.
