Please speak to your recruiter about options for this role.Salary: CompetitiveWhat you’ll be doingCollate mass property data for equipment and systems to deliver weight and centroid control on multi billion pound submarine programmesSupport the Mass Properties Lead to aggregate weight and centroid reports and present the status to the Chief Naval ArchitectCollaborate with system design engineers to accurately estimate mass, centroid and design maturity of multiple mechanical and electronic systemsMaintain a comprehensive database of parts mass propertiesProvide input to and lead weight saving strategies and maintain the list of weight risk and opportunities for each discipline areaInterrogate CAD models to determine estimates for mass properties with associated uncertaintiesUtilise statistical analysis to provide a whole boat picture of weight risk and opportunity to senior leaders, stakeholders and our customersYour skills and experiencesEssentialQualified in STEM subject or extensive experienceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamIT literate in Microsoft packages, experienced knowledge in ExcelAbility to understand and interpret engineering dataDesirableExperience working with large, Electrical or Mechanical systemsData analysis experience including interpretation, visualisation, manipulation and presentationExperience of using CAD packages and programmesCEng/IEng status or a clear pathway to achieving professional recognitionBenefitsYou’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Weight Engineering team are a specialist team who play a critical role in the whole boat design and assuring whole boat safety.
