Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Time-Served Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continuous running and upkeep of plant equipment and machinery through effective preventative and reactive maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
Hours Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
Salary - £30,000-£35,000
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.

Diagnose and repair faults in , conveyors, control panels, and other plant equipment.
*
Perform installations, upgrades, and modifications on machinery and systems.
*
Work effectively with the production team to minimize downtime and maintain high levels of machine availability.
*
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.
*
Accurately complete maintenance logs, reports, and documentation.
*
Assist in continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis.
*
Respond quickly to breakdowns and prioritize repairs based on operational needs
Required Qualifications and Experience:
*
Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (proof required).
*
Recognized qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering.
*
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across both disciplines.
*
Proven experience in a similar maintenance engineering role, ideally within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
*
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
*
Experience with control panels, three-phase systems, motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics
