Fortress Recruit is looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join a forward-thinking, UK-based engineering and manufacturing business, working on complex, precision-critical components and delivering cutting-edge solutions for demanding environments.

Key responsibilities will include:

Working on projects from concept design through to production, ensuring quality, cost, and timescales are met. Designing and developing electro-mechanical systems and precision mechanisms. Creating 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks. Using engineering analysis and simulation tools to assess stress, fatigue, and vibration. Producing detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings Supporting verification/test activities. Working alongside other departments to deliver fully integrated solutions.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 3 years in an engineering design role, preferably with complex, high-precision, or Defence applications. Experience in designing mechanisms, structures, and assemblies Confidence in performing engineering calculations and creating technical documentation. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Industry experience or a desire to work within defence and/or advanced manufacturing

Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (with proof of UK for the last 5 years).
