OverviewMechanical Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems (Rotating Machinery)We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong engineering mindset and hands-on experience in designing large rotating components. This is a technically demanding role where your ability to apply stress analysis, FMEA methodology, and advanced 3D CAD skills will be central to delivering robust, manufacturable solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical components and assemblies for rotating machinery using NX, Inventor, and AutoCADProduce detailed 3D models and 2D drawings to current manufacturing standardsConduct engineering calculations including stress analysis, FEA, and FMEALead and support new product development and design improvement projectsGenerate technical documentation including material specifications, IOM manuals, and Bills of MaterialsApply DFMA principles and contribute to cost-effective design through Value Engineering (VAVE)Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure design integrity and performanceSupport testing, supplier visits, and customer meetings as requiredWhat We’re Looking ForMinimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally involving large rotating partsStrong proficiency in 3D CAD (NX, Inventor, AutoCAD)Solid understanding of stress analysis and FEA toolsExperience with FMEA and design risk mitigationKnowledge of ISO 9001 standards and design for manufactureAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesA proactive, solutions-focused team player with strong communication skillsQualificationsHonours Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is essentialHNC/HND with substantial industry experience may be consideredIEng registration is desirable but not essentialWhy Join UsBe part of a technically driven engineering team working on high-impact projectsOpportunity to shape product design from concept through to manufactureSupportive environment with scope for professional development and career progressionCompetitive salary and benefits packageDetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Design, Engineering, and Product ManagementIndustries: Industrial Machinery Manufacturing and Design Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
