£48,000 + Benefits Full Time | 37.5 hours/week

A brilliant opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer with 25 years experience to get involved in genuinely cutting-edge engineering projects from early-stage concept to full test and validation. This isnt just a CAD job -youll be prototyping, problem-solving, and working with cross-functional teams on bespoke mechanisms and related test rigs.

The Role: Design and develop complex mechanical assemblies and test equipment Contribute to R&D projects in a high-reliability engineering environment Work across CAD, FEA, and hands-on prototyping activities Assist with lab-based testing, data analysis and reporting Collaborate with a tight-knit engineering team and engage with external partners

Youll Need: HND or degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar) 2+ years post-graduate industry experience Solid CAD and mechanical analysis skills (SolidWorks preferred) A practical approach -happy getting involved in lab or cleanroom activities Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn

Useful (But Not Required): FEA tools like SolidWorks Simulation, NASTRAN, or ESATAN Some exposure to vacuum systems, tribology, or aerospace materials Experience working in quality-managed R&D environments (ISO9001, AS9100)
