Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer * Support all phases of mechanical design and project engineering * Create and manage project plans, drawings, and procurement documentation * Generate and manage parts lists, RFQs, and purchase orders * Oversee project procurement, deliveries, and goods-in processes * Assist during build, testing, and final assembly phases * Provide technical and administrative support to senior engineers and management * Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with engineering processes Candidate Requirements Qualifications: * SVQ/NVQ Level 5, ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4), or City & Guilds T4/T6 in Mechanical Engineering * Completed EITB-approved apprenticeship preferred Experience: * Ideally 5+ years in a mechanical design or manufacturing environment * Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles with an analytical and methodical approach Technical Skills: * Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Project * Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software is highly desirable Personal Attributes: * Adaptable and well-organised * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset What We Offer * Work on cutting-edge defence and engineering projects * Supportive and collaborative team environment * Excellent opportunities for long-term career progression * Competitive salary and benefits package Interested?
