Job Title – Associate Mechanical Design Engineer Building Services

Site location – South London

Responsible to – Regional Director and/or Senior Associate

Purpose of the role – As an Associate you will be involved in multiple projects with a varied workload and the autonomy to work individually, but will also assist in planning and managing an appropriate resource to deliver projects

Reason for vacancy – Continued growth

Contract – Permanent

Salary – GBP65,000 – GBP85,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Holidays – 26 days + Bank Holidays, rising to 31 days with loyalty days + BH

Hybrid – Yes, Possible hybrid working of 3 days in the office 2 days at home

Requirements / Qualifications

Although we re happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you ll ideally have qualifications, experience or skills in the following areas:

• To assist and deputise, when required, for the Regional Director in leading, managing and taking responsibility for the technical and commercial performance of your designated projects in Building Services
• To keep abreast of Building Services industry best practice and new developments in your own area of technical expertise
• To develop and maintain an effective network of contacts and participate in industry events (seminars, conferences, etc)
• To contribute to management of all technical and commercial aspects of commissions
• To set and maintain technical standards
• To review and approve work prepared by others
• To comply with all safety and IMS procedures and ensure that staff do likewise
• Degree qualified Chartered Engineer in a relevant discipline, or an Engineer with lower qualifications but a minimum 10 years relevant experience
• Shall have a good commercial awareness and judgement
• Have the drive and self–motivation to continuously develop your skills
• Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and to be able to build and develop relationships, both internally and externally.
• Ability to apply technical Building Services knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to lead and motivate staff by example
• Be reliable and have a responsible attitude to work
