This company has been operating over the last three decades has built a strong reputation within the residential sector. Their design division is a younger arm of the company and specialises in large developments, including high-rise apartments. With a high turnover and plans to double the size of their design team over the next 2-3 years, the business is in an exciting phase of growth and is committed to investing in bringing in the right people.
In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical design across a range of residential projects, working closely with other internal departments and external contractors to ensure the seamless delivery of each scheme from design to installation. As the company grows you will have the opportunity to assist with development of more junior colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical building services design. They will be confident liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams, and will have a long-term view to progressing into senior management. A full UK drivers' licence is essential.
This is a rare opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of projects, work closely with the wider business, and progress into an Associate Director role in the future with a future focused company.
The Role:
Designing mechanical building services for large-scale residential developments.
Mechanical plant sizing, heat loss calculations, and overseeing CAD drawing output.
Liaising with clients, external consultants, and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.
Working alongside contracts managers and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Attending design meetings and occasional site visits.
Supporting the growth of the department with mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Long-term succession planning in place, with the scope to progress to Associate Director.
The Person:
Mechanical Design experience within building services.
Strong technical knowledge.
Able to work closely with multiple stakeholders and manage projects from design to installation.
Self-starter with excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
