The Role
Reporting to the Design Manager, you'll be responsible for the full design process - from concept through to production - ensuring solutions meet both customer and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop design concepts and detailed engineering drawings for hydraulic manifold systems. Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure designs meet project and performance requirements. Prepare technical calculations, costings, and project documentation. Source and manage suppliers, supporting quotations and manufacturing processes. Maintain control of drawing issues, revisions, and records. Support the inspection, testing, and continual improvement of hydraulic products.
Skills/experience required:
Proven experience in a Design Engineer role, ideally within the hydraulics, mechanical, or fluid power sectors. Skilled in SolidWorks, DWG Editor, or DraftSight. Strong understanding of materials, machining, plating, and fluid power principles. Methodical, organised, and capable of managing multiple design projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications:
HNC/HND (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Hydraulic Systems knowledge (Stage 1 & 2 or similar) is advantageous.
