Key Responsibilities
Designing both bespoke and updating existing products and solutions
Produce drawings using SolidWorks / AutoCad
Creating BOM
Ensuring that Engineering calculations are carried out
Ensure Directives & Engineering standards are adhered to
Customer Liaison
Occasional visits to our customer sites.
Skills:
Master Model Design Approach
Parametric Design
Designs controlled with driving / driven parameter interrelationships
Design Tables
CAD Macros / Automation
Computer programming (coding) experience (beneficial, not compulsory)
Rapid Prototyping experience (3D Printing, beneficial)
Working knowledge of structural mechanics and implementation of Finite Element Analysis in Design (beneficial)
Working knowledge of kinematics and dynamics (theoretical, or via software, or both), and ability to use for analysis of new designs
Experience with PDM systems (beneficial, not compulsory)
Experience of using CAD Library generation / automation software (beneficial
not compulsory)
Conveyor design experience (very beneficial, however not compulsory). Internal training would be provided.
Qualifications
Relevant Engineering degree - Mechanical Engineering preferred
Minimum 3 years post qualification Mechanical Design Engineering experience
Hands on exposure to the design of electro-mechanical systems in an industrial, automotive or aerospace environment. Ideally designing conveyors, automation or materials handling equipment
Able to interpret customer and supplier technical documentation & specifications
Proficient in the generation of design concepts taking input from other cross-functional team members.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am - 4pm
