Mechanical Engineer - Stafford (On-site)
6-month contract - £21 per hour - Inside IR35
Are you a practical, hands-on Mechanical Engineer who enjoys diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and working on a variety of mechanical systems? This role offers the chance to apply your technical skills in a busy, workshop-based environment supporting the maintenance and refurbishment of specialist ground equipment.
What you'll be doing:
Inspecting, repairing, and refurbishing a wide range of mechanical systems and components
Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective repair solutions
Working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine-based systems (diesel, petrol, or marine)
Conducting surveys and ensuring all work meets relevant engineering and safety standards
Using computer systems to record and report maintenance activity
Collaborating closely with a skilled team of engineers and techniciansWhat we're looking for:
Strong mechanical repair or maintenance background
Experience with engines, hydraulics, vehicles, or heavy machinery
Confident in fault finding, inspection, and refurbishment work
Computer literate with the ability to maintain accurate records
Engineering qualification (Level 3 or 4) or completed a recognised apprenticeship
Eligible to work in the UK and able to meet baseline security clearance requirements (BPSS)This role would be a great fit for engineers from automotive, marine, or industrial backgrounds who enjoy practical, problem-solving work and take pride in producing quality results.
