Mechanical Integrity Engineer/Tank Inspection Engineer – Tank Integrity Location:
Remote with travel circa once a month to UK Terminals Salary:
£58,000 + 10% Bonus
Outsource UK is recruiting a Tank
Inspection Engineer
to join an oil/gas storage company on a permanent basis focusing on
tank integrity assessments
and will support ongoing mechanical integrity efforts across UK-based terminals.
This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of storage tank assets, particularly in the petrochemical sector.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct
tank integrity assessments , inspections, and evaluations in line with industry best practices and company standards Oversee and support the inspection of
pipeline system (PS) storage tanks , ensuring compliance with relevant standards (API 653 preferred) Collaborate with Terminal Systems (TS) teams currently overseeing TS tank assessments Support the development and writing of
integrity procedures and standards
alongside the Engineering Manager and wider team Propose
risk-based, cost-effective solutions
without compromising safety or compliance Liaise with internal stakeholders and global teams Ideal Candidate Profile: 5–10 years
of experience in inspection engineering, preferably in the
petrochemical or chemical storage industry Demonstrated expertise in
storage tank inspection
and
integrity management Experience in tank inspections to
API 570
standards;
API 653
is highly desirable (training can be provided) Strong understanding of risk-based inspection approaches and root cause analysis Capable of drafting and refining technical procedures and standards related to integrity Strategic thinker with a practical mindset – balances cost, safety, and operational needs effectively
