Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent - 24/7 shift pattern Location: Eye, Suffolk Salary: £47,500 - £50,000pa Sector: Food ManufacturingReed Engineering are working with a long established and fast growing company who are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team in the food manufacturing sector. As their site continues to grow and secure orders from both existing and new customers, these roles are essential for maintaining the high efficiency and reliability of their production lines.

Day-to-day of the role:

Perform total preventative maintenance and address breakdowns of all mechanical nature to minimise downtime in production. Ensure that the machinery and facility layout are optimized for the best performance possible. Provide both reactive and proactive maintenance services on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure, crucial for continuous production. Lead the site maintenance function, delivering effective, time-sensitive repairs, including prioritisation of tasks. Manage weekend Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and contractor control to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Uphold stringent hygiene and safety standards, complying with food safety regulations and practices.
