Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Weston Salary: Competitive – Negotiable depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:30 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected global automotive manufacturer based in the Weston area. They are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team and support production operations through effective maintenance and problem-solving.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working with advanced machinery and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly and effectively
* Support production line changes and tooling setup requirements
* Supervise contractors and ensure all work complies with safety standards
* Source mechanical parts and components with consideration to cost and lead time
* Assist with general building and site maintenance as required
Required Skills & Experience:
* Strong mechanical background, with experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Proven experience in fabrication and welding
* Experience working with or around CNC machinery (advantageous)
* Confident supervising contractors and supporting equipment installations
* Familiarity with planned maintenance systems and safe working procedures
* Problem-solving ability, including basic fault-finding on electrical or mechatronic systems (desirable)
