Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting our client, a leading precision manufacturer, in the search for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team based in North Yorkshire.

The role offers a varied and hands-on workload across both reactive and planned maintenance activities, with the opportunity to work on complex machinery and contribute to continuous improvement across site.
The Role:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical plant and equipment through both scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks. You'll use your knowledge to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and support ongoing projects including plant upgrades and equipment installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform statutory and preventative maintenance activities across a wide range of plant equipment
Respond to and resolve mechanical breakdowns in a timely and safe manner
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including root cause analysis
Manufacture and machine replacement parts as required (lathe and milling experience )
Support plant improvement projects, including equipment rebuilds and installations
Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to a high standard
Utilise portable tools and power equipment safely and effectively
Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's CMMS system
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across site
Contribute to a proactive maintenance culture by identifying opportunities for improvement
Adhere to all health and safety protocols and company policies About You:
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on individual with a solid background in mechanical maintenance. You'll bring a proactive approach and strong attention to detail, ensuring plant performance and reliability is maintained at a high level.
Qualifications & Experience:
Time-served or qualified Mechanical Engineer - Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
Competent in mechanical fault finding and repair
Lathe and milling machine experience advantageous
Welding and fabrication capability required
Familiarity with CAD/SolidWorks and automation/robotics advantageous but not essential
Some electrical competency would be beneficial
Strong IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems
