OverviewMechanical Project Design Engineer - Water | Jacobs, Manchester, United KingdomResponsibilitiesFacilitate value engineering and buildability workshops, delivering innovative sustainable design solutions contributing to design management, scheduling, risk management, change control and financial forecastingParticipate in value engineering and buildability workshops, embedding constructability and commissioning requirements into the design to deliver innovative and sustainable design solutionsDevelop feasibility studies, outline and detailed designs, and provide construction supportProduce design layouts, technical specifications, datasheets, and P&IDs for mechanical systemsSelect and specify mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, blowers, screens, valves, chemical dosing plant, odour control)Oversee technical delivery, ensuring compliance with industry regulatory and safety standardsMentor and guide colleagues and peers, supporting their technical and personal developmentCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, electrical, process engineers) to deliver integrated solutionsQualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Chartered Member of IMechEDemonstrable progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with expertise in detailed design and design-and-build execution for water, wastewater and bioresources non infrastructure projectsA sound knowledge in and experience of mechanical engineering principles, mechanical equipment and systems used in water/wastewater treatmentFamiliarity with UK water sector regulations and safety protocolsRobust understanding of current health, safety and welfare legislationGood stakeholder management skills able to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvementExtensive experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) #J-18808-Ljbffr
