Mechanical project Engineer (Building Services)

Our client is a well-established M&E Installation Contractor with a £60m annual turnover, delivering high-value commercial projects across the region. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer. Works are in the building services sector on new build construction developments

Package of £35k - £70k plus package depending on experience and qualifications

Duties

Support the preparation and issue of supplier and subcontractor enquiry packages under the guidance of the QS or senior engineers. Help review returned quotations for consistency and completeness. Learn the basics of procurement processes and assist in tracking orders and documentation. Reviewing design documentation and flagging areas needing clarification. Draft and log Requests for Information (RFIs) under supervision. Gain exposure to Value Engineering (VE) processes by attending design meetings and workshops. Support the monitoring and coordination of CDP subcontractor's pre-construction inputs. Review documentation and learning how to check against specifications. Attend design meetings taking an active role in assisting with design and resolving issues Liaise with external design consultants to understand how specifications and time lines are managed.
