Join to apply for the Mechanical Project Engineer role at Galliford TryRole – Mechanical Project EngineerLocation – SouthamptonPurpose of the role: An opportunity has arisen for an Mechanical Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.Ideally, you will be based in or around South East England and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.You will become a key member of a team successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes predominately to the Water Industry in sewage and clean water. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work alongside the project delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are achieved.Key Responsibilities:Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel.Delivery of water Non Infra M&E Projects.Design Management and Liaison.Early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design and project teamProduction and review of health and safety documentation (risk assessments & method statements / Project management plans).Procurement of materialsAttend/undertake factory, site and works testing, commissioning, and client trainingAttendance and input into internal and client design reviewsWorking closely with the design team to gather all required information, participate in regular design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop the best solutionInvolvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the project delivery teamsNegotiating with suppliers and subcontractorsInvolvement with preparation of subcontract ordersAssistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation worksLiaison with site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget, and qualityDeveloping Inspection and Test Plans and ensuring they are completed as the scheme progressesInnovation whilst maintaining compliance to current standardsPreparation & management of project programmesProactive approach to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety performanceTo work with the team to develop and close out all contract documentation such as, “As built” drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance ManualsAbout You:An industry applicable Mechanical ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalentProven experience within the Water IndustryExperience Working Non Infra Projects of Varying Sizes.DESEAR experience desirable but not essential.Commercial and contractual awarenessWorking knowledge of Microsoft packages including ProjectDesire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and cultureTrustworthy and ethical approach, exercising discretion where requiredOrganised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellenceFlexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levelsExcellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face)Commitment to the provision of excellent customer serviceProven influencing and negotiation skills to both internal and external stakeholdersExperience of leading and managing functions where requiredWhat We Can Offer in Return:With an impressive order book of over £3.8 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
