Mechanical Pump Engineer (Field Based)
to join a leading provider of industrial pump solutions around the
Sheffield area! Youll work on-site and in workshops to install, maintain, and repair a wide range of pumping systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role is ideal for someone mechanically biased with hands-on experience in pumps, valves, pipework, and rotating equipment. position! What youll be doing Install, assemble, and commission pump systems including centrifugal, diaphragm, screw, and peristaltic pumps Carry out mechanical servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to optimise performance Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns at client sites Conduct routine pressure and flow tests, and maintain accurate records of all work Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all tasks Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and site personnel to complete projects efficiently Operate and maintain a company vehicle stocked with tools and supplies Hours Monday to Friday (Day Shifts)
39.5 hours per week Flexibility required (no weekends) Pay £38,500 per annum + overtime available and paid at time Skills/Experience Required Essential Hands-on experience with industrial pumps, valves, pipework, and related rotating equipment Previous experience in the clean water or wastewater sectors NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification A valid UK driving licence Proven ability to diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and carry out installations Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents Strong understanding of mechanical systems and associated tools/equipment Preferred Knowledge of electrical systems and controls related to pumps Experience with laser alignment, condition monitoring, or similar technologies Ability to work independently and as part of a team CSCS, First Aid, or Confined Space training Benefits Company pension Free on-site parking Additional leave and bereavement leave Access to training and career development opportunities Opportunity for overtime and additional pay Use of company vehicle and tools Mobile phone provided 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) All expenses covered Door-to-door pay Day shifts
